i have many problems:
i don't know the meaning of encounter spot.is it a spot that bot can encounter enemy and friend?
when i use bot_nav_strip and save navigation without analyzing the hiding spot remains but the encounter spot in bot_memory_usage =0 bytes
so i wonder does encounter spot and the analyzing make effects to the way bot do their task?how to save encounter spot without reanalyzing?
i don't want to re-analyze after editing navigation because of 2 reasons:
1.in some hiding spot bot frequently faces to the wall so i split the area to delete these hiding spot and use bot_nav_strip and save2.i realize that the size of the .nav file is very big after analyzing and the memory size of encounter spot is very large i wonder if reanalyzing after editing nav many times increase the size of bot_memory usage ?-this makes the cpu and ram works more and the fps of the game decrease
please tell me this is true or not?
i wonder how to decrease smoke effect of the HEGRENADE (i think we must replace the file .spr of the hegrenade but i don't know which).the fps decrease very much (to 30 if there is many bots)when it explode .
i see that in some maps that have a large ground, where many bots (about >8)appear in one time in a place (>8 bots see each others), the entity polygon (epoly) increase very fast, is it the reason of lagging game? is my processor enough in this case?or i have to buy video card?
here 's my computer:
cpu: intel dual core 2.6ghz(E5300)
ram: ddr2 1gb transcend
vga onboard 256 mb
mOTHERboard ECS G31T-M7
hdd hitachi 160 gb 7200 rpm
display: lcd viewsonic VA1716w MAX REFRESH RATE: 75 hz
video card :onboard
can video card solve this problem (the grenade and the -many-bots problem i 've said)?
i also change the cvar
gl_spriteblend "0"
d_spriteskip "1"
max_smokepuffs "20"
max_shells "60"
but this only effect to smoke grenade and bullet ,not effect to hegrenade
3.do you know how to disable smoke grenade (not allow bot to use smoke grenade but allow them to use HEGRENADE (the command bot_allow_grenades 0 disables the hegrenade ,so it can't solve this problem
(i don't have a video card ,and i play offline with bot)
so many questions Smile

I've found that if you have many 'large' nav squares that it takes longer to analyze. Not sure why that is compared to many smaller ones.

Video Card. A dedicated video card would help, but an onboard card works too as long as you have enough memeory allocated to it. Looks like you have 256mb for it. I would check, for most onboard cards the memory for the video card comes from the system memory. So in theory, if you have 1gb of memory and your video is using 256mb, then you only have 744mb left for system memory. This could be causing some of the 'lag' in your system. Mainly because the bots use quite a bit of resources for their AI. I would highlyl recommend jumping up to 3-4gb of ram if you are running this all on the same system.

The only way to disable one type of grenade over another type that i've found is through the use of some sort of Admin mod script. With these scripts you can have 'add on' scripts that allow blockage of 1 device over another per map.
